2025 Junior League of Tacoma Scholarship

Introduction Each year many women across the United States interrupt their education because of financial hardship. The Junior League of Tacoma (JLT) Scholarship Program works to reduce those economic barriers for women living in Pierce County, Washington, helping them obtain the certificates or undergraduate degrees needed to enter the workforce or advance their careers. This award is aimed at female students who are currently enrolled or planning to re-enroll in local two- or four-year colleges or vocational programs. Applications for the 2026–27 academic year are available online. Award - Two scholarships of $2,500 each will be granted. - Awards are one-time and non-renewable. Application deadline and submission - Complete applications and all required documents must be postmarked or submitted electronically by 5:00 p.m. on February 1, 2026. - Applicants will receive an email confirming receipt of their submission. - Scholarship winners will be informed in early April. - Application materials may be uploaded via the applicant submission portal. - Letters of recommendation should be submitted by references through the reference provider submission portal. Eligibility Applicants must: - Identify as a woman. - Be currently enrolled or planning to re-enroll in an accredited undergraduate program (academic or vocational) located in Pierce County, Washington. - Demonstrate financial need. - Be enrolled in at least one course in the upcoming academic term (award funds will only be disbursed after proof of enrollment is provided). Preference Preference will be given to applicants who: - Are returning to school after a break in their education. - Have one academic year or less remaining to complete their degree or certificate. Important note This scholarship is not open to applicants pursuing graduate or professional degrees (for example, Master’s, PhD, MD, JD, etc.).
