Required application materials
We focus on understanding your circumstances rather than expecting perfection. Your submission must include the following to be considered:
- Letter of explanation (maximum 500 words): Describe your current financial challenges and explain how a PAVE grant would be used. Provide concrete details about your situation and intended use of funds. Outline your academic and career goals — explain how your design or architecture degree will enable you to contribute to the built or consumer environment. Your letter should convey both demonstrated need and promise in your chosen field.
- Work sample (2–3 pages maximum): A selection showcasing your most recent individual design work. Group projects are not acceptable.
- Transcript: A copy of your current transcript (official or unofficial).
Selection process
Awards are determined using both merit and financial need. Reviewers will weigh GPA alongside the level of demonstrated need when selecting recipients.
