Golden West Scholarship Program
Scholarship Sponsored by Golden West Telecommunications
Introduction
Golden West funds scholarships to support young people from its service area as they move into higher education and future leadership roles.
Program overview
Each year we award more than 40 scholarships of $1,000 each to graduating high school seniors. Awards are distributed with one scholarship designated for each high school within the Golden West exchanges, plus a single at-large scholarship reserved for home-schooled students or for students who live in our service area but attend a high school that is not included in the program.
How to submit your application
If you are an at-large applicant, you may send your completed application directly to Golden West. All other applicants must submit their materials through their high school’s guidance counselor or another designated school official.
Key deadline
Completed applications must be received by March 16, 2026.
Who is eligible
- The applicant must be a graduating high school senior.
- The applicant’s parent(s) or legal guardian(s) must live within one of the Golden West exchanges and must be current subscribers to Golden West internet or phone service.
- Applicants are required to have taken the ACT or SAT at a testing center of their choice and must have an official score before submitting the scholarship application.
Requirements for recipients
Recipients are required to begin college, university, or technical school in the fall term immediately following high school graduation and to enroll in a full-time course load as defined by their institution’s credit policy. They must complete the fall semester as a full-time student and be registered for a full-time load in the spring semester before scholarship funds will be disbursed.
Please review these criteria carefully and contact Golden West if you have questions about eligibility or the application process.
