Husker Harvest Days Ag Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Husker Harvest Days
Intro
Each year Farm Progress, in partnership with the Agricultural Institute of Nebraska and Grand Island Tourism, presents nine Husker Harvest Days agricultural scholarships to Nebraska high school seniors who intend to pursue post‑secondary study in agriculture, agribusiness, or related agricultural fields.
Scholarship amount and purpose
- Nine awards of $1,200 each will be granted to students entering accredited Nebraska post‑secondary institutions (universities, 2‑ or 4‑year colleges, or technical schools) in programs related to agriculture/agribusiness.
- These scholarships are academic in nature. Financial need may be taken into account but will not be the deciding factor.
Geographic distribution and payment schedule
- Five of the nine scholarships will be reserved for applicants from Adams, Buffalo, Hall, Hamilton, Howard, or Merrick counties.
- The remaining four awards are open statewide and may also be awarded to applicants from the counties listed above.
- Each $1,200 scholarship is paid in two installments: $600 is issued for the first semester or quarter upon submission of proof of registration; the remaining $600 is released for the second semester or quarter after the recipient provides proof of second‑term registration and evidence of at least a 2.5 grade point average for the first term.
