Program overview
This scholarship is offered through the Military Benefit Association. Eligible applicants who are selected will receive a one-time award of $3,000 (see award restrictions below). Applicants must meet the eligibility, documentation and membership conditions described here.
Eligibility
To be considered for the Military Benefit Association Scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following general requirements:
- Be a high school senior, high school graduate, or GED recipient planning to enroll — or be currently enrolled — full time in an undergraduate program at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the upcoming academic year. Enrollment must begin no later than the fall term of the year the scholarship is awarded.
- Have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or an equivalent GPA).
- Have an applicant sponsor who is a Military Benefit Association member by November 1, 2025.
Applicants must also qualify under one of these membership-related categories:
- Dependent child of a Military Benefit Association member and under 26 years old as of the application deadline.
- Spouse member or a dependent spouse of a Military Benefit Association member.
- National Guardsman or Reservist who is a member of the Military Benefit Association.
- Veteran who has separated from service by the application deadline and is a member of the Military Benefit Association.
Award details
- Each selected student receives a $3,000 scholarship.
- Up to 30 scholarships will be awarded.
- Awards are not renewable, though eligible students may reapply in subsequent years.
- A recipient may receive this scholarship for up to two years total.
- Funds are intended for undergraduate study only.
How recipients are chosen
Scholarship America administers selection. Military Benefit Association officers or members do not participate in the selection process. By applying, candidates accept Scholarship America’s final decisions.
Selection criteria include:
- Academic record
- Demonstrated leadership and involvement in school and community activities
- Work experience
- A personal statement outlining educational and career goals and objectives
- Any unusual personal or family circumstances
- An online recommendation
Note: Financial need is not a factor in the selection process.
Required application materials
You must upload the following as part of your application:
- A current, complete academic transcript (grade reports are not accepted). The transcript must clearly display:
  - Student name
  - School name
  - Grades
  - Credit hours for each course and the term in which each course was taken
If you are submitting SAT or ACT scores that are not shown on your high school transcript, upload an official test score report separately. If you provide a college transcript, separate SAT/ACT reports are not required.
